Clouds and Target Control

The SessionCraft is accessible from Tools tab
or with F9 key.

The Clouds and Target section of SessionCraft monitors for various events (triggers) and executes target re-centering. The target re-centering on  PointCraft and GoTo++ so make sure that you have configured them correctly in order to be able to solve images.

The Clouds and Target section defines the events (triggers) on which to make target re-centering, but also provide valuable information as information about the locked position and the last target re-centering.

There are different types of triggers that can be configured in any combination:

1. Re-center after every X images
2. Re-center after every X minutes
3. Re-center after X "lost star" reports in row from PHD2
4. Re-center after cloud coverage has lowered under defined limit

Note: All automatic re-centering triggers require the option Lock Target to be enabled. It enables a smart logic to track what you are imaging without need to do any specific actions. It just knows where the scope is pointed and is able to get back to this position via GoTo++.

In the Clouds and Target it is all about same action - re-centering so when we have configured multiple triggers there is no matter which trigger exactly will start the process, the other triggers will be also restarted. For example re-centering  by clouds coverage will reset the image counter and time counter and guiding counter.

Lock Target

1. Lock Target

When enabled SessionCraft will monitor all mount movements via GoTo++, GoTo or slew detection (except guiding and dithering) and remember the exact position. Having this position is possible to define target re-centering on various events. The current target lock cloud be found in the Log section.

The re-centering will be made with GoTo++.

2

Recenter on images

2. Recenter on images

Enables target re-centering on every X images. In the brackets is shown how many images are taken since the last re-centering. Every mount move, resets the trigger.

Requites Lock Target to be enabled.

3

Recenter by time

3. Recenter by time

Enables target re-centering on every X minutes. In the brackets is shown how many minutes has passed are taken since the last re-centering. Every mount move, resets the trigger.

Requites Lock Target to be enabled.

4

Recenter by guiding

4. Recenter by guiding

Enables target re-centering after X "lost star" reports from PHD2 in row. If PHD2 manage to restore the guiding, the counter is reset. In the brackets is shown how many "lost star" reports in row are detected so far. If PHD2 manage to restore the guiding, this counter is reset.

This feature can be combined with Pause after stop When is it defined, SessionCraft will wait the time and will try to recenter, try to start guiding and resume the imaging.

Requites Lock Target to be enabled.

5

Recenter after clouds

5. Recenter after clouds

Enables could coverage tracking via Observing Condition device which can measure the cloud coverage. It is possible to define a clouds coverage percent that pause the imaging and clouds coverage percent that allow target re-centering and resuming of the imaging.

Requites Lock Target to be enabled.

6

Clouds stopping level

6. Clouds stopping level

Defines the could coverage above which to pause the imaging.

Requites Lock Target to be enabled and a connected device in Observing Condition with the clouds sensor.

7

Clouds resuming trigger

7. Clouds resuming trigger

Defines the could coverage under which to re-center the target and to resume the imaging.

Requites Lock Target to be enabled and a connected device in Observing Condition with the clouds sensor.

8

Pause before recentering

8. Pause before recentering

When enabled will wait X before re-centering triggered by lost star or cloud coverage. If the GoTo++ fail, SessionCraft will make the pause again and will make another to re-center the object. Any other Session Craft trigger will stop this loop. During the pause no re-focusing will be made.

9

Lock a selected object

9. Lock a selected object

Opens the Object Browser and the selected object coordinates will be locked as locked target.

Requites Lock Target to be enabled.

10

Lock scope position

10. Lock scope position

Locks the current mount coordinates as locked target.

Requites Lock Target to be enabled.

11

Target Locking Log

11. Target Locking Log

Shows information about the last target locking.

1. Ra/Dec are the coordinates from the last detected mount move, last GoTo or GoTo++ actions.
2. Angle is the value detected by the last images solving in PointCraft or via GoTo++

3. Time shows when the last locking is made
4. By X shows what has triggered the locking, manual move, GoTo or GoTo++

5. Shows the current cloud coverage if there is connected Observing Condition device
